The Show

This episode was supposed to be a follow-up to our Comfort The Dying show. Instead, it ended up taking a couple of turns that we didn’t expect. We left the audio pretty raw on this one and just let the conversation unfold.

About Litsa: Litsa took a long and winding road to end up in the field of social work. She holds two B.A. degrees, in Philosophy and Religious Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Warwick (England). After realizing that the life of an academic philosopher was not for her, Litsa found a deep passion for helping others. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. Litsa spent five years working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and developed a specific interest in grief and trauma. After years working with families who had experienced traumatic and unexpected deaths, Litsa noted a lack of meaningful, down-to-earth, and accessible online resources for people grieving. With that in mind, she co-founded the grief support website and community What’s Your Grief which provides creative and practical grief and bereavement.

Litsa and her partner Eleanor have a ton of awesome resources including e-courses, workshops, literature, and a deep backlog of free content via the What’s Your Grief blog and podcast. Be advised: this isn’t isn’t your daddy’s grief counseling! No solemn voices or tilted heads here!

Book of the Week

Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging by Sebastian Junger. I think this but is absolutely MUST READ if you’ve been a member of any close-knit group, and especially the military.
